Tank’s 33rd Birthday Party at Club Mood!

R&B Singer Tank

R&B Singer Tank

Club Mood was packed to capacity last night as hundreds ventured out into the chilling January air to celebrate R&B singer Tank’s 33rd Birthday. The VIP section was packed with members of Tank’s entourage and other celebrities such as Kevin Hart (Soul Plane), Q from R&B group 112, and comedian D.Ray (Barbershop). There were a tad bit too many females in the establishment for my taste, but I’m pretty sure none of the fellas were complaining. As usual, Mood boasted a diverse, mixed crowd; there were Asians, Blacks, Whites, Latinos, and a number of beautifully mixed people, which allowed for a nice assortment of pickings. ;) The ladies were all shining in their best freakum dresses, hip-hugging pants, and stilettos while the guys cleaned up in suits and ties. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed and everyone seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves. The bouncer was a bit of a heckler but he melted like an M&M in hundred-degree weather once we showed him who was boss :) Just kidding lol, but that was the first time we’ve ever had a problem getting into our own party!

Sometime during the evening, D.Ray and an unknown friend decided they were going to freestyle over “Swagger like Us” and a Jay Z song whose name eludes me at the moment. Who ever knew he could rap? <—Sarcasm. When that little display was over, a specially made birthday cake with sparklers instead of candles was brought out for Tank, who then proceeded to serenade himself with a birthday song… The ladies swooned haha. Immediately afterwards the DJ begin spinning again and as soon as he put on 112’s huge hit “Cupid”, of course Q had to grab a mic and sing along. It was at that moment that I stopped debating with my friend Alexis as to who “Q” actually was, because when I first spotted him in V.I.P., I thought he was Johnny Gill. My, my, My… Hey, it was dark in there! Lol. In any case, V.I.P was crammed with bottle poppers who wanted to party alongside Tank; so crammed that it was hard to take a step without literally stepping on someone else. It was yet another successful night for Diamond Cuts and Paradise Entertainment at Mood. Happy Birthday Tank!

Platinum Playhouse at Siren Studios!

So upon first glance, Siren Studios appeared to be everything I expected of an upscale club designed to hold the thousands of people my promotion group, Diamond Cuts, and Paradise Entertainment promoted to for our “Platinum Playhouse New Years Eve Bash”. It had a large, spacious dance floor, secluded V.I.P. balconies, two mellow rooms with comfy looking couches where you could go to gather a few quiet moments with a new cutie, and an open bar :) However, after a closer inspection the enchantment I initially felt when walking into this club dissolved. Actually, as soon as I walked in the club I noticed a few small yet significant and perhaps dangerous qualities. For instance, instead of having stairs leading down into the club, there was a steep and slippery ramp that all the ladies were expected to somehow not tumble down. And believe me, in 4-inch heels, that is not easy feat. Then, as I customarily do after entering a club, I went in search of the Ladies Room to check out my fit and make sure everything was copasetic. Unfortunately, I quickly encountered yet another problem. No Bathrooms! Ok, let me rephrase that. There were bathrooms in the establishment but they were all off limits to the patrons. Hmmm… Where were the patrons expected to go? How about outside the club and into the porter potties waiting on the side. Lol. Oh, I don’t think so. That might be okay for the guys but I don’t want any splashes anywhere near my new shoes.

On the bright side, the open bar did help me get over my early discomfort and as I glanced around the room, I noticed that everyone else appeared to be enjoying themselves as well. One small downfall of the open bar was that the dance floor was made of wood and once a few drinks got spilled on it, it was all down-hill from there. Down a few ladies went! Lol. I did, however, manage to find an upstairs “indoor” restroom in the V.I.P. balcony section. I guess there are a few perks to being a bottle-popper ;) All in all, I can honestly say I had a nice time at Siren. Minus having to baby-sit a few drunken compadres and hold a friend’s hair back as she vomited into a nearby wastebasket from too much tequila, I guess I rung the New Year in right. :)
